Grown, vinified, bottled and hand-disgorged on site. Methodé traditionnelle. A testament to the world-class quality of the Pipers River region for sparkling wine production. Rich, toasty and nutty aromas with brioche, earthy notes and sea brine. Long and fine with a creamy mouthfeel. A wine of classic structure.
This unique single-vineyard wine has been grown, vinified, bottled and hand-disgorged on site. The wine is the result of carefully hand- harvested fruit from the mature-aged chardonnay vines of Delamere Vineyard, reflecting the site's distinctive soil and location. Maturation on lees for a minimum of four years is a critical part of Delamere Vineyards house style. A small percentage of oak matured reserve chardonnay has been blended in to increase complexity and richness. The wine is the epitome of elegance and finesse, displaying candied-lemon fruit character with underlying flavours of toasty brioche and earthiness. The palate shows classic cool climate structure; it is long and fine with a creamy mouth-feel that comes from 100% malo-lactic fermentation and careful maturation on lees. Sadly, the volume of the 2006 is very limited (see Vintage Conditions below) with only 150 cases to go around.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2006 Blanc de Blanc is a more elegant and refined style than the 2005, which comes down to vintage variations. 2006 was an exceptional year for sparkling wine with vines producing low yields that ripened two weeks earlier than usual. Dry conditions through the ripening period of February and March ensured very low disease pressure and fruit perfection. The early flavour development ensured the natural acidity was still high at harvest, providing the backbone, elegant and finesse that defines this Delamere Blanc de Blanc.
