VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The 2011 season was notoriously challenging in Tasmania, with high rainfall and warm weather leading to high risk of disease. However, where fastidious vineyard management was applied wonderful wines have resulted due to low crop levels and humid condition.

WINEMAKING
The fruit for this wine was carefully hand harvested from a mature vineyard located at the northern end of the Tamar Valley on the western side of the river. The fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermented with light solids in stainless steel tank. Ageing on yeast lees has added to the texture and complexity of the wine.

TASTING NOTES
The aroma of this wine shows classical Pinot Gris characterists of pear, with hints of nectarine and nutmeg spice. The palate is open and generous with the pear characters enhanced by a creamy textured. The fresh gentle acidity balances the wine perfectly giving the wine length and a clean finish. A classic example of a Tasmanian Gris style.
