The 2025 vintage unfolded in the recent rhythm of warmer years-generous in yield across the North, with fruit marked by intensity, ripeness, and firm, structural tannins. In Pipers River, including Delamere, spring arrived lush and abundant, with rainfall and warmth well above the norm. Vines responded with vigor, but with growth came challenge-disease pressure ran high, and vigilance became our daily ritual. Time in the vineyard stretched long, each pass a quiet battle to stay ahead. Then, as January turned the page, the skies closed and the landscape dried. The warmth lingered, but the rain withdrew. Sparkling fruit came in through March, ripening in a steady, measured flow. But by mid-month, still wine fruit paused-halted by the relentless dry conditions, as the vines held their breath. Relief came in the form of late March rain. The parched vines drank deeply, stirred awake, and rushed to complete their season’s work. Harvest surged forward, fast and urgent, reaching its conclusion on the 11th of April.
W I N E M A K I N G
Just over 78% of the fruit for the 2025 Flyleaf Rosé was harvested from one of our 40-year-old Pinot Noir blocks, selected specifically with this style in mind. The fruit was hand harvested, soaked overnight after a light foot-press in picking bins, pressed and fermented at low temperatures to retain freshness and the delicate enticing aromatics typical of pinot noir from our site. The remainder of the blend is a saignée parcel from the production of the Delamere Pinot Noir. This adds depth of colour, structure and complexity to this delicious dry rosé

A fragrant aroma of delicate ripe strawberries and raspberries, with hints of rose petal. The palate is crisp and clean with a juicy strawberry character, savoury notes of potpourri and a long lemony finish. This is a deliciously dry style, perfect as a lunch accompaniment or aperitif, or just an impromptu summer evening indulgence with friends!
